Blake Lively reached out to her entire contact list for help amid her fight against Justin Baldoni, it seems!
According to an email included in unsealed court filings this week, Blake appeared to reach out to her The Town co-star Ben Affleck for assistance in her It Ends With Us feud! While the recipient’s name of the email was redacted to just “Ben A,” context clues point to the Dunkin-loving A-list actor and his then-wife, Jennifer Lopez. Sent on May 17, 2024, Blake wrote:
“Ben, It’s Blake. Don’t hang up.”
LMFAO! What a start.

After sucking up to Ben by sharing that her hubby Ryan Reynolds was “blown away” and “equally effusive about [his] Dunkin’ commercial,” she joked Ben now had “a Canadian fan club in [her] house” (as well as “a Burbank one”). She went to share a “zero pressure” ask, writing:
“I’ve just come out the other side (well almost) of the most upsetting experience I’ve ever had on a movie. The making of doc of this film would be more interesting than the movie could ever be.”
She claimed it would rival disasters like Fyre Festival and said making It Ends With Us “nearly killed me.” Wow.
The Gossip Girl star detailed some of the scandals, including pointing out she had to rewrite and restructure the “entire film” after dealing with the director. She claimed:
“I also ended up having to direct the movie via the chaotic clown ‘director’/actor/producer/financier/studio head at the center. Yes that’s all the same person. Oh and did I mention he and everyone he had on the movie is in a cult.”
Damn! That’s seemingly a reference to his faith. Yikes. The actress wished she’d “just formally directed” the film because it would have made it “much easier” than navigating the Jane the Virgin star’s “taste, ego, and preexisting decisions.” And while she noted there were “wild HR issues and beyond” that occurred, she didn’t detail them.
She then asked Ben to watch the movie and “give me any ideas or notes” on it ahead of her “bake off” with Justin (when they were set to duke it out over whose edit of the film would be the final version). OMG! She also said she’d “love” if his then-wife J.Lo could share her thoughts, too! Even his kids were welcome to watch it. She gushed:
“I’m such a fan of Jennifer’s, I’ve told her as much every time I’ve met her, and it would be an honor to have her take. Again, zero pressure. I just really want this to work after all I’ve put into it. This movie nearly killed me. And I can think of very few people who would be as prescriptive and insightful as I know you would be.”
Blake informed Ben that Ryan also reached out to his bestie Matt Damon for feedback (his full name wasn’t included in the email, but there was a reference to Jason Bourne, one of his famous roles). She concluded her message:
“If you’re still reading this, whoa. You’re not nearly as busy as you think. Or you’re a very nice person.”
No response to Blake’s email was filed in the latest court docs, so it seems possible Ben may not have responded. Ouch!!!!
That said, there’s always the chance he did get back to her, but the legal team didn’t think it was worth entering into the case. Hmm. Plus, she said in the letter that he could “literally text me a voice memo” if that was easiest, so that may also be the reason there was no response included.
Either way, it is telling to see how many power players she was reaching out to for help! Thoughts?! Sound OFF (below)
