What’s better than being an Avenger? Being crowned People’s Sexiest Man Alive!
For the third year in a row (following Paul Rudd and Michael B. Jordan, in 2021 and 2020, respectively), one of Marvel Comics‘ greatest heroes has snagged the title — and this it goes to Chris Evans! Gushing about his hunky new honor with the magazine on Tuesday, the Captain America star said his middle school-aged self would “be pumped” about the selection because it would probably have given him an in with the cool kids. He teased:
“This would probably be the road to the cool table which I was not at.”
Chris Evans not at the cool table? Now that just sounds wrong!

While he’s still adjusting to being named the hottest hunk of all, he thinks his mom, Lisa, will be the proudest:
“My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
And he wasn’t wrong! People caught up with the adoring momma and she had this to say:
“I am not surprised at all. Our family will be beside themselves.”
We bet there’s one more person who is just as thrilled: Chris’ rumored new girlfriend Alba Baptista. Not too shabby to be linked to the Sexiest Man Alive, especially considering their shocking age gap! While the Gray Man star’s family and friends are thrilled for him, he’s WAY too humble to really accept the honor, he said at one point during the interview:
“This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about. It feels like a weird form of humble bragging.”
Weird and “ripe for harassment,” he added:
“Really this will just be a point of bullying for my friends. It’s ripe for harassment.”
LOLz! His close friends are gonna have a field day with this, just like Paul’s did! But, honestly, this new title shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to him — we mean, he’s Captain America for goodness sake! The guy’s been an American treasure for two decades now — and the internet still isn’t over his iconic Knives Out sweater!

As deserving as he may be, don’t expect it all to go to his head, but do expect to see some changes in his personal life soon! While the 41-year-old has been booked and busy the last few years, he’s beginning to want to prioritize time at home and with his family in Boston more and more — meaning the roles he picks could look different:
“When it comes to seeking out the people I play it’s more of an issue of where the movie shoots. I’m too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months and I’ve settled into a nicer phase where I’m just happy being at home.”
Now that he’s received the Sexiest Man Alive award, he’s ready to relax a bit more, he noted:
“The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas. I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return.”
When he’s not melting hearts on-screen, he’ll be busy finding true love of his own. Chris revealed he’s ready to settle down, get married, and become a father, he expressed:
“Wife, kids, building a family. That’s absolutely something I want.”
But when he does find his happily ever after, don’t expect him to be flaunting his romance on social media. The Lightyear lead wants to keep some things private when he does move into the next chapter of his life, he dished:
“Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends.”
We sense more sleuthing in Chris’ fans’ futures if they want to know what’s going in with his life! How else will we get the tea on his possible GF Alba?? One thing is for sure, he’ll be spending plenty of time in Boston — a city he thinks is sexy because of its history and emphasis on education:
“So much history there! I love the accent. To me, the accent is home. I love the weather. The seasons, the sports teams. But the sexiest thing about Boston… maybe our universities. We’ve got a lot of good schools. Let’s give education a plug, that’s damn sexy.”
As for why he deserves this new title? The Fantastic Four alum wasn’t ready to call himself “sexy” just yet, but he did suggest:
“It is something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…’ I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
