Chrissy Teigen‘s feud with Alison Roman took a new turn on Tuesday when it was reported that the New York Times had placed the cook and contributor’s column on “temporary leave.”
Her suspension sure has eery timing as her controversial comments about the former Sports Illustrated model only came to light earlier this month! But there’s more to this story… Taking to Twitter last night, Chrissy expressed she’s “not happy” with the move made on the paper’s part, and it’s not because she’d like to see Alison fired for good.

Rather, the Cravings: Hungry For More cookbook author is stepping in to help! In response to one user’s tweet about the leave, she made it clear she was displeased by the move:
“I don’t like this one bit and I’m doing what I can (off Twitter) to make that known.”
To others who criticized her over the New York Times‘ decision, Teigen explained more was happening behind-the-scenes:
In another, the momma of two further explained just how much the whole situation “sucks” for Roman:
While it’s been radio silence on the food writer’s side, and has been since her public apology to Chrissy, the latter is definitely going to bat for her despite their tense Twitter back-and-forth. The star divulged she’s been taking the heat for her “temporary leave,” telling one tweeter who seemingly put her at fault, that there really is no beef:
“Alright I will believe you in that, as it is easy. But I very publicly forgave her and am getting very much blamed for her leave. And you have a lot to say on your timeline about me. Which is fine. I’m really tired.”
Guess when John Legend‘s wife referenced the “content farm” comment during an Instagram Story rant the other day, it wasn’t because she wanted to reignite any of the hard feelings??
Those following the timeline of events already remember how Alison stepped up to apologize to Chrissy, writing in part on Twitter:
“I need to formally apologize to Chrissy Teigen and Marie Kondo. I used their names disparagingly to try and distinguish myself, which I absolutely do not have an excuse for… I need to learn, and respect, the difference between being unfiltered and honest vs. being uneducated and flippant.”
Responding to the “incredibly talented” author, Teigen followed with this response:
“Thank u for this, @alisoneroman. The comments stung, but they moreso stung because they came from u! It wasn’t my usual news break of some random person hating everything about me!”
With the hatchet buried, it seems the New York Times only made matters worse by trying to take things into their own hands. Hopefully this leave really will just be temporary and isn’t their lame-ass way of saying she’s been let go!
With Chrissy going public, we’re sure her power can influence them to rethink the decision!
