Christina Applegate DESTROYS Candace Owens For Calling SKIMS’ Inclusive Wheelchair Ad & Adaptive Clothing ‘Ridiculous’

Christina Applegate has some strong words for Candace Owens!

The controversial, right-wing political pundit went viral this week after a resurfaced clip from her self-titled podcast drew mass amounts of outrage as she was seen mocking SKIMS‘ new ad campaign featuring women in wheelchairs wearing adaptive undergarments. In part of her rant, she called the inclusion of disabled people “ridiculous” and wondered:

“Whose idea was this? Was it your idea? Okay, you’re fired. I’d like to fire the person who was behind this ridiculous campaign — and by the way, I think people in wheelchairs will back me up on this. I think they’re on my side. I think they think this is stupid.”

Safe to say she was dead wrong!

Before we go any further, listen to Candace’s hot take (below).

Mind-boggling, right?!

The Dead to Me star, who has been open about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis for several years now, sure thought so! Christina clapped back at the conservative’s negative take on inclusivity on Twitter Thursday night, writing:

“Yes late tweet. But woke to see the most horrifying thing. This Candace person making comments about companies who see we need help. It’s f**king gross. I thank skims and Tommy and Guide beauty and @neowalksticks for seeing us. To you #youshouldknowbetter.”

The actress then praised Kim Kardashian’s intimate line while explaining to Candace just how important this form of inclusivity really is — and it goes far deeper than wheelchair users appearing in photos! The 51-year-old added:

“Going to try and sleep but my rage is keeping me awake. Candace Owens, do you know when you have seen pictures of me how f**king hard it was to get my clothes on? A team has to help me!!! So I’m excited for accessibility clothing for me and my community.Hope u wake [up].”

Everyone deserves clothes that not only fit them correctly but that are easier to put on! Seriously, who would hate on this?! Love that Kim is adding this adaptive clothing to her brand — even if some people are just too ignorant to understand it.

Thankfully, the Vacation star isn’t going to let this rant get her down, she added elsewhere in her Twitter thread:

“Honestly , she takes no space in my world. But always gotta call out a person who needs to see She will wake in the morning and her heart will hurt and hopefully she will change. All we can hope for.”

The Married… with Children alum then decided to extend an olive branch, suggesting:

“I thought my last tweet was enough. But then my heart said something else. No rage. If Candace wants to get on the phone with me to be educated on being disabled. I will not come with anger. I will come with love. Because she needs to hear that. I pray for her tonight.sincerely”

After thanking SKIMS for showing “how beautiful” the disabled community is, Christina signed off the app with a gentle reminder, noting:

“My last thought of this is,all of us are born who we are. That stays. But anyone can become disabled. Your mom, dad, child, best friend. Etc. watch your words please.”

Sadly, Candy isn’t changing her tune…

After Candace received a ton of backlash, which included wheelchair users sending her selfies of them posing in lingerie, the media personality returned to her show with an update. In an episode titled “Sorry, Representation Does Not Matter,” which was published on Wednesday, Owens claimed she doesn’t think “the beauty standard is shifting” and argued Kim was only doing this to make “millions of dollars” while “checking off a box,” reiterating:

“Representation does not matter.”

Jeez. Such a pessimistic attitude to have about such a great collection and campaign. Representation and inclusivity absolutely do matter! Reactions to this, Perezcious readers?! SOUND OFF (below)!
