Damar Hamlin is back on the field!
The 25-year-old football player played in his first NFL game on Saturday (August 12) more than seven months after he suffered cardiac arrest during the middle of a game back on January 2.
Damar joined his Buffalo Bills teammates for their preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
He didn’t start the game, but he took to the field after several minutes where he took part in 24 snaps and three tackles.
The Bills ended up defeating the Colts 23-19.
Damar was officially cleared to play again back in April. At the time, Damar opened up about the “life-changing event.”
“They almost lost me. Like I died on national TV, you know what I mean?” Damar said. “So that right there is the biggest blessing of it all, for me to still have my people, and my people still have me.”
As of right now, Damar is set to return to the field for the Bills first official game of the season on September 11 against the New York Jets.
