David Foster is giving an update on how his wife Katharine McPhee is doing following the tragic death of their son’s nanny.

Yadira Calito, the couple’s nanny who helped care for their son Rennie, tragically died in an accident that occurred at a Toyota car dealership in California’s San Fernando Valley.

Katharine and David were on tour in Asia when the accident happened and he stuck around to close out the tour while she flew home immediately to be with her family.

While promoting their upcoming Christmas album, David provided an update on how Katharine is coping with the loss.

“It’s been tough for her,” David told Entertainment Tonight while doing a join interview with his wife. “Yeah, it’s been tough. She’s managing.”

Katharine replied “thank you” in response to the condolences from the outlet.

The couple returned to the stage a few weeks after the tragedy.
