We are so proud of Madison De La Garza for living her most full life!

And we truly mean that in the best way possible. The 21-year-old just revealed she has been sober for 230 days — and she’s truly beaming in her social media announcement about the amazing achievement!

The Desperate Housewives alum took to TikTok on Saturday to post a 12-second-long video. She didn’t say a single word in the clip, but did mouth some spoken words while smiling broadly and writing captions on top. In the first written overlay, Demi Lovato‘s younger sister shared:

“My ancestors: wait… what about 230 days?”

Then, while revealing a tiny grin that got bigger and bigger in time, she wrote:

“Oh… I’ve gone 230 days without using.”

Wow!!

In the caption, she added:

“I know they’re proud #recoveryispossible”

We love it! Her smile seriously warms our hearts! And she’s clearly so proud of herself — as she should be!

Now, it’s unclear exactly what substance(s) De La Garza has been abstaining from. But whatever it is, you can plainly see in that awe-inspiring clip how proud she is of her achievement. She’s earned it!

FWIW, back in January, Maddie posted another TikTok vid in which she shared a filter with several leaf emojis and the words “I’m quitting in 7 days” — to which she responded:

“Too late … quit 206 days ago and I couldn’t be happier”

Though she again kept the specifics out of it, the leaf emoji is often used to represent marijuana. But whatever the case, it’s clear Madison is working on bettering herself in many ways. Snaps and claps for self-improvement!

Down in the comments, the Texas native’s proud momma Dianne De La Garza shared some love with a touching and uplifting message:

“This is the cutest video ever!! Your cute smile!! So proud of you!!”

So wonderful!

Of course, Madison and Dianne both know the dangers of addiction all too well. Demi nearly died from an overdose back in the summer of 2018, and has been working hard to make a meaningful recovery ever since. In fact, the Gnome Alone actress spoke about that July 2018 experience in the heartbreaking 2021 docuseries Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil. Recalling what her older sister experienced, Madison said this in the series about first learning of the overdose:

“I heard my mom pick up the phone. It was something in her voice that told me something really, really bad just happened and I should probably get my clothes on because we need to leave.”

Madison also recalled how the Camp Rock alum temporarily lost vision as a result of that nearly-fatal overdose:

“The first moment that I saw Demi in the hospital, when she first opened her eyes, she looked at me. I grabbed her hand and I said, ‘I’m here and I love you’ just to let her know I had gotten to the hospital, and she looked me dead in the eye and said, ‘who is that?’ Which is something you never want to hear your sister say.”

Oof. Even now, nearly five full years later, Demi’s overdose experience is still so scary to think about.

That’s what makes it even more heartwarming to see Lovato’s little sis on such a positive path. We love this achievement for Madison!!!
