Elon Musk is promising another big change to X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).
The 52-year-old billionaire and platform owner has made a multitude of changes to the site’s coding and the company’s structure since assuming ownership in late 2022.
He is now setting his sights on X’s block feature. Elon teased plans to eliminate the feature with one exception.

On Friday (August 18), Elon responded to an X account asking if there is “ever a reason to block vs mute someone” on the platform.
“Block is going to be deleted as a “feature”, except for DMs,” he replied. “It makes no sense,” he added in a second tweet.
Elon provided even more information when responded to another social media user: “You will still be able to mute accounts and block users for DMs,” he promised.
If you missed it, the billionaire recently updated fans on his plans to fight Mark Zuckerberg. However, his promises were called into question.
