Fans Think Emma Stone & Dave McCary Secretly Got Married During The Quarantine — Here’s Why!

Did Emma Stone officially become a married woman right under our noses?!

Fans think so after they noticed something very different about the Easy A actress during an appearance on Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine YouTube show earlier this week. For those who might not recall, Emma and Saturday Night Live director Dave McCary got engaged this past December after dating for over two years.

OK, so, what’s the big clue that’s got everyone’s attention?! During her chat with Reese, Emma sported a simple gold band where her engagement ring used to be! As a reminder, here’s the adorable photo McCary uploaded to announce their nuptials last Fall:

And now, take a look at what the starlet had chilling on THAT finger during the video chat:

Ahhh!

That definitely looks like a wedding band, doesn’t it? At the very least, it’s NOT the same ring we saw Emma sporting month ago. Women often swap out their engagement ring for a plain band for day-to-day wear after getting married, so, is this the case here?

According to Page Six, Stone and McCary were forced to cancel their March wedding plans due to the coronavirus outbreak. And they’re in good company with couples like Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom as well as Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez who also pushed back their nuptials for the foreseeable future while much of the US remains shutdown. The outlet noted the La La Land actress and comedy writer did not set another date for their wedding, so it begs the question: did they ditch those plans altogether and get hitched on the low?!

Here’s another clue to consider! During the YT interview where the ladies discussed managing anxiety during the quarantine, they were joined by Dr. Harold Koplewicz of the Child Mind Institute. He asked Emma about her thoughts on marrying an “anxious man,” adding:

“If you marry an anxious man, you’re going to have to know me the rest of my life.”

To which, she replied:

“Thankfully I didn’t do that.”

So, is Dave actually a super chill dude or did she mean that no such wedding ever took place? It’s so hard to tell!
