George Strait's Stadium Concert Forced to End Early Due to Storms

George Strait was forced to wrap up his show earlier than intended over the weekend.

The 71-year-old country music legend was performing at Nissan Stadium with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town on Saturday night (July 29) on Nashville, Tenn., when a second shelter-in-place order at the stadium due to bad weather caused the headlining performance to end early.

About an hour before the concert, Nissan Stadium issued a shelter-in-place warning for those already inside the stadium. The delay lasted nearly an hour but was called off shortly before 5:45 p.m., via WKRN.

Officials said there would be a delayed start time, but the concert would go on as planned.

Just before 10 p.m., another round of severe storms came in, causing a second shelter-in-place order before officials called off the concert altogether.

“This will conclude tonight’s show. Thank you for attending the George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town show at Nissan Stadium,” the venue wrote on social media.

Luckily, George was able to perform for over an hour before the order.

Those still at the stadium were instructed to seek shelter in the covered areas of the stadium. We’re glad everyone is okay!
