Longtime ABC News meteorologist Rob Marciano hasn’t been seen around the New York City studios of Good Morning America for quite some time — and there’s a serious reason for it.
According to a new report first revealed on Sunday afternoon, the GMA weatherman has been “banned” from the popular daytime television show’s Times Square studios. And while it’s not clear what specific action brought the ban, insider information leaking now is already unsettling.

Per Page Six, multiple sources have confirmed Marciano was banished from the Times Square television spot after he “made a colleague feel uncomfortable” at some point in 2022. An insider told the outlet:
“He was found to have done something … that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still haven’t let him return.”
The ban has apparently been tough on Marciano, as the insider revealed:
“All he wants is his old job back, and to be allowed back in.”
Yikes…
But even with that reporting out in the world as of Sunday, it’s not known what specifically happened. A second source claimed the weatherman had been “dealing with some anger management issues” while going through a bitter divorce from his wife, Eryn Marciano. Those anger problems apparently spilled over into Rob’s work life, as the second insider explained:
“He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period where there were some issues, a number of alarming events.”
The second source added:
“There were times when he was very cranky and angry … unsavory behavior on his part. He was pulled off to deal with it and he’s been back.”
Um, WTF?!
According to the NYC-based media outlet, Marciano was forced off the air for a month by ABC bosses after an investigation was completed by the network’s employee relations team. That investigation cited an “alleged incident with a female colleague.” However, the Page Six report — and the insiders they quoted — declined to get more specific.

And even after Marciano’s initial month off air, he still hasn’t been allowed to come back to the studio. He’s working remotely on GMA weather gigs around the country, but can’t return to Times Square. The second source explained how GMA executive producer Simone Swink “still won’t allow him back” into the building, and added:
“She’s no-nonsense and is very serious. She’s focused on the work and wants to keep [her staff] focused and happy. She’s very protective of her team.”
Swink has been “running a very tight ship” at GMA according to those same insiders. Thus, she is being “extra cautious” now with Marciano even after the alleged initial incident(s). To that end, a third source explained how Swink’s focus is on keeping the show’s culture intact and on the up-and-up — especially in the daytime TV juggernaut’s NYC headquarters:
“Any decision made about the team is based first and foremost on protecting the culture and enabling our people to focus on the work of news-gathering — free of distraction.”
Of course, this is the same daytime show that was just tarred with T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach‘s affair bombshell. So whatever Marciano allegedly did, it sounds like Swink doesn’t want to keep that culture going any longer.
Per the outlet, the weatherman will continue appearing on air with GMA delivering field reports from locations around the country. He has also been appearing on ABC’s World News Tonight, which shoots at a different studio in NYC. According to the US Sun, Rob and Eryn’s divorce was still winding its way through the courts as of the very end of last year.
