It looks like everyone isn’t entirely thrilled to see Hugh Jackman suit up as Wolverine again for Deadpool 3.

Director James Mangold worked with Hugh on 2013′s The Wolverine and Logan. Speaking with Variety, he admitted that he wasn’t totally in love with the comeback.

“I can’t say that there’s a part of me that doesn’t wish that we’d let it be,” he said.

That doesn’t mean he was surprised by the news: “But there was always going to be another Wolverine. There could be a baby Wolverine and a cartoon Wolverine. As much liquid as they can squeeze out of that rag, they’re going to try to.”

He continued, saying, “I don’t measure my success on a movie like Logan with whether we ended the conversation. I ended my conversation.”
