Jamie Lee Curtis is looking back on her journey to sobriety.
The 64-year-old Everything Everywhere All at Once actress opened up about her previous usage of opiates and other drugs during an interview with MSNBC.
In the process, she revealed that she considers herself lucky to be alive and to not be in jail.

Jamie explained that she was addicted to opiates and said that she would have died at the time “if fentanyl was available, as easily available, as it is today on the street.”
“My worst day was almost invisible to anyone else,” she added. “I’m lucky. I didn’t make terrible decisions high or under the influence that then for the rest of my life I regret.
The actress continued, saying, “There are women in prison whose lives have been shattered by drugs and alcohol — not because they were violent felons, not because they were horrible people, but because they were addicts. And I am incredibly lucky that that wasn’t my path.”
“I was headed there,” she said.
Jamie previously spoke about her addiction in 2019.
