Jenni "JWoww" Farley took a break from being angry on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation last night...
... and decided to be candid, raw and emotional instead.
Following a few weeks where Farley argued with Angelina on air about the actions of her now-ex-boyfriend, Zack Clayton Carpinello, Jenni turned her attention this Thursday evening to a different man:
Her ex-husband, Roger Mathews.
At the time this episode was filmed, the veteran reality star was going through a difficult divorce from Roger Mathews, with whom she shares daughter Meilani, 5, and son Greyson, 3.
As we've documented several times throughout the past several months, the end of this marriage was ugly, bitter and very contentious for many, many months there.
Shortly after Jenni's divorce filing in late 2018, the exes got into such a heated argument that the police were called to their home.
And a restraining order was eventually taken out against Mathews.
In turn, he jumped on Instagram and put his estranged wife on blast, castigating Farley as a liar and a hypocrite and as someone who put her job before her children.
Farley then accused Mathews of physical and emotional abuse, allegations Roger basically admitted to in a shocking open letter, as summarized here:
"We were talking about regrets earlier — I’ve been thinking about the biggest one,” Jenni told Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi during a heart-to-heart later on this week's new Jersey Shore installment.
"Roger?” Nicole asked.
Yeah,” Jenni replied, expounding as follows:
“I’m going through it with the divorce. It’s been almost a year since I filed. When you get divorced, you’re supposed to be celebrating and start a new chapter, but it’s really heartbreaking.
"And it’s stressful, the up and down battle of figuring out custody issues. I just don’t know when it gets better."
Mathews himself addressed the split last month, telling Us Weekly:
"Although this last year was the toughest ones of my life in almost every way, it was also one of tremendous growth and one that tested my human spirit.”
He added:
“You can’t have the good without the bad and I’m so looking forward to so many positive things with my kids.'
As far as we can gather, Roger and Jenni are now on solid terms.
They spent Easter together with their children this spring and haven't dragged each other in public in a long time.
But, remember, this Jersey Shore episode was shot awhile back, which may explain why Snooki tried to comfort her pal in this way last night:
“He’s the f-cking worst. But you always knew it wasn’t right.”
Farley sort of agreed with that assessment, but she was clearly in a reflective and sentimental mood.
“I’s just really hard,” she said on air, adding of her two young kids: “They’re my bliss as I’m suffering. … It’s more than exhausting -- it can mentally break someone. I just want peace.”
Thankfully, ex spouses did eventually manage to put the animosity behind them and finalized their divorce proceedings this past August.
Farley's rep told People Magazine at the time that they “reached an amicable conclusion” and “remain devoted to co-parenting their children in a happy and healthy environment.”
