Did Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson use an intimacy coordinator on the set of their new film, or did they not? That is the question right now!
This week, the actress appeared on the Las Culturistas podcast, where she told hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers that she and Robert didn’t use an intimacy coordinator while working on the sex scenes for the drama Die My Love. Jennifer was unsure if they even had one on set, saying:
“We did not have one, or maybe we did, but we didn’t really…”

Regardless, the Hunger Games alum stressed she “felt really safe with him” because “he’s not pervy and he’s very in love with” his partner, Suki Waterhouse, so she never felt the need to use one. That’s great. However, we really hope one was at least present! Intimacy coordinators are incredibly important not only for the safety of everyone on set, but also for legally protecting a production! Watch the interview (below) if you haven’t seen it:
Don’t worry, though! It turns out J-Law just didn’t have her facts straight! Back in May, she and Robert spoke in a joint interview with Brut at the Cannes Film Festival about working with an intimacy coordinator on Die My Love! Yes, they had one! The No Hard Feelings star first shared that director, Lynne Ramsay, made sure the pair were comfortable together before filming… in a very unique way:
“She had us do dance lessons before we started shooting, which was so humiliating and embarrassing. Then on our first day of shooting, we were naked, attacking each other like tigers!”
Rob then chimed in laughing:
“You think it can’t get more embarrassing, and they’re like ‘Now, do it naked!’”
Ha! But Jennifer insisted the two had “instant trust” and found it “very easy” to work together afterward, adding:
“You don’t always get to pick your costars, and you don’t always feel comfortable. But eventually you get used to it and you’re like talking, getting notes, having a snack — naked!”
They really were at ease around each other! Wow! Rob and Jen BOTH then confirmed they had an intimacy coordinator present for the sex scenes. The Twilight alum also credited the intimacy coordinator for ensuring those moments ran without a hitch, saying:
“It’s not just to feel secure sometimes, but for the actual technicalities. Sometimes directors are scared to say, ‘Your body looks weird in this angle!’ But if it’s someone else whose specific job is [to say], ‘You just move it a little bit, you’re going to like it more,’ it’s nice to have. Someone who’s not embarrassed to say, like, ‘Your butt looks fat, you’re sweating a lot, you look gross.’”
OMG! For her part, Jennifer, who was “four months pregnant, and pretending to be wasted” for the role at the time, also praised Robert for making her feel secure:
“I felt safe all the time, Rob was very appropriate.”
