Prepare to be shocked, Perezcious readers! It sounds like there’s a chance Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck could reconcile after all! If you believe this new report anyway…
The writing was on the wall for Bennifer. The pair spent the entire summer apart, even not reuniting to celebrate their second wedding anniversary or her birthday! They put their marital home on the market. Plus, we’ve seen both ditch their wedding rings on multiple occasions. And there are plenty of other signs that they are over, too! It was just a matter of time before they officially filed the paperwork to end their marriage!

But now? Maybe we need to hit the brakes on the breakup talk for the time being? They wanted to “throw in the towel” a couple of months ago, with the divorce papers even ready for submission. However, the two are no longer on the verge of a split — at least, according to what a source told Dailymail.com on Tuesday.
The insider claims Ben and Jennifer are giving their relationship another shot and working to save it in secret at this moment! And they are doing so through hand-written letters — something they did at the beginning of their romance! The insider explained:
“Jen and Ben agreed it is best to take some time apart so they can really figure out what it is that they want. They were ready to throw in the towel. Divorce papers are done and ready to be filed. But they wanted to give it one last go before walking away from this and are going back to the beginning by writing each other letters. This is what made them fall in love in the first place.”
OMG, could this be true? From across the country???
Ben famously won back Jennifer by writing her letters. Sources told TMZ in 2021 how Ben was writing her love letters full of longing while she was filming Shotgun Wedding in the Dominican Republic, including one email with “a line about him being able to ‘own her heart’ with his pen.” Will he be able to win her again??
And letters were key to their relationship the first time around, too! In her documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, J.Lo revealed the couple wrote each other love letters and emails early on, and Ben held onto them during his 13-year marriage to Jennifer Garner. When they got back together in 2021, the actor had their notes and emails bound into a book as a gift for the holidays. She said in the documentary:
“This book is a book Ben gave me on our first Christmas back together. It is every letter and every mail that we wrote each other from 20 years ago and today.”
While Jennifer was willing to share these messages to the world, her latest correspondence with Ben will never see the light of day. Not only is she keeping their letters between them, but if the stars get back together, their romance is staying out of the public eye! They are supposedly heading in the reconciliation direction, too! Wow! The Dailymail.com source shared:
“This time JLo will definitely not be showing anyone these letters and they are just to stay between her and Ben. If they decide that they want to stay together, she will be keeping her love life to herself. Right now, it is looking promising.”
“Promising”??? Wow!
We guess Jennifer is now the one compromising! Initially, Ben wanted to keep their relationship off social media, especially after the intense scrutiny they faced the first time around. However, the filmmaker noted in The Greatest Love Story Never Told he eventually recognized how unfair it was to his wife, and that he needed to “compromise.” But it seems the Hustlers star now realizes she needs to meet him halfway! Instead of showing off their love so much, she needs to keep certain things more private if she wants them to stay together!
Of course, the duo still have a long road ahead of them. Although Jennifer and Ben want to save their marriage, all is not entirely well between them. A different source claimed to the outlet that their marriage is still “strained,” but at the same time, “there is also a deep love for each other,” adding:
“They just have to find what got them back together in the first place and there is definitely a chance that three will be a charm when and if that happens. They aren’t throwing in the towel. They are taking it day by day and they don’t want to get divorced.”
Whether these letters help their marriage, everyone will have to wait and see. But from what we’ve heard about Bennifer over these past few months?
