Last months, photos had fans asking if Jill Duggar’s sisters ghosted her during her baby shower.
As we reported at the time, the party looked lovely … but photos did not include either of Jill’s parents or any of her siblings.
It’s no secret that there are major tensions in the Duggar family.
But one of Jill’s siblings insists that not only she was there, but that fans should stop being “negative” about the family.
Duggar fans and critics alike have been asking why Jessa Duggar did not show up in any of the baby shower pics.
She was, people eventually learned, present at the party.
The questions are so numerous that Jessa has personally responded.
“Please let’s not assume there’s a negative motive behind everything we do and do not do,” Jessa asked.
In general, that is not an unreasonable request.
However, Jessa did not stop there — because critics did not stop there, either.
Another commenter asked why none of Jill’s siblings seemed to be in attendance.
“These rumors make me angry!” Jessa declared.
She added: “And I’m here to put a stop to it.”
“The narrative these kinds of comments put forward,” Jessa alleged, “is a false one.”
She claimed that this is “simply not true.”
But … even Jessa had to admit that the majority of the family was not there.
Jessa acknowledged that “pretty much everyone else was out of town.”
She said that this was “whether for a wedding, family reunion, or beach trip.”
Some of those are tough calls. But some of those sound like choices — or excuses.
You can’t reschedule someone else’s wedding.
(With the exception of some truly nightmarish in-laws, heartless venues, or possibly our current Supreme Court)
Family reunions are often regular events. You could skip one year for a baby shower. Beach trips are even easier.
But, as Jessa phrased it, “you cannot always coordinate 19+ schedules.”
She doubled down, insisting that “we spend plenty of time together.”
Jessa claimed that this is true “even if there aren’t photos circulating on the internet to prove it.”
“Not every gathering has to be a photo op,” Jessa insisted.
An unusual declaration from a reality star, present or former.
Jessa then demanded that followers “quit spreading hate.”
Um … hate?
There are many people who use social media to spread true hatred — sowing discord and endangering lives.
But ma’am … “why weren’t many of your sisters at your party?” is a question. Even the meanest version of it is not “hate.”
Amy chimed in, defending Jessa and affirming that Jill’s party was no ghost town.
“We had a beautiful turnout,” she wrote, “and enjoyed just being in the moment!”
“There wasn’t any drama and Jill was glowing!” Amy gushed over her cousin.
