Now this is how you clap back! Jimmy Kimmel has been in an all-out war with Donald Trump ever since the president started advocating for his show’s cancellation, but Jimmy’s not backing down!

As we’ve covered, POTUS has been trying to get all the major late-night hosts off the air and has set his sights on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The show was even briefly suspended! Over the weekend, Donald made it clear how much Jimmy is still under his skin by calling the stand-up star a “horrible” host and declaring ahead of his own hosting gig at the Kennedy Center Honors:

“If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president.”

Firing back on Monday night’s episode, Jimmy replied:

“Agreed. I’m with you. I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with anything more than that. He even knows I’ve never hosted the Kennedy Center Honors. Maybe he’s confusing me with Queen Latifah. As far as this ‘Who has more talent?’ thing goes, it seems like he’s challenging me to a contest, which, if so, I’m open to it. Let’s do it. Let’s have a talent competition. I’ll tell a few jokes. I’ll draw something. I’ll play my clarinet. He can play golf, spank a porn star, and ruin a country.”

Oof!

When Donny doubled down and called Jimmy “terrible” at the awards show, the TV host fired back:

“That is very hurtful. I thought we were friends. I don’t know what’s going on. He is really fixated. I’m starting to think he might have a crush on me.”

Hah!

But the biggest bit of revenge wasn’t a joke! At the end of the monologue, the performer announced he has RENEWED his contract for another year of shows!

“The last thing I want to do is upset you [Trump] during this sensitive time. But I have one more bit of entertainment news to share, and that is that I have decided to extend my contract here at ABC for another year. Our show’s been renewed till May of 2027, or until the world ends, whichever comes first.”

OMG!

This is an especially big decision since back in June 2024, reports surfaced that the comedian was ready to quit! He was reportedly eager to spend time with his family and had NO intention of signing on for more shows once his contract expired this year!

But then his pal Stephen Colbert‘s show was canceled, and Trump started to go after his own platform… Now, he’s digging his heels in and sticking it to the man. He’s not going anywhere for now! Trump’s gonna HATE that!
