Josh Duggar: A Look At His Life Inside Seagoville Prison

Earlier this week, Josh Duggar was transferred from a county jail in Fayetteville, Arkansas to a federal penitentiary in Seagoville, Texas.

Yes, Josh has been locked up since December, when he was convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography.

But his situation changed dramatically when he was relocated to the facility that will serve as his home for the next 151 months.

And those who are familiar with Seagoville say that Josh will face many new challenges in his new life.

For starters, Seagoville is unique in that it has a large population of sex offenders.

In fact, the facility’s treatment program for such inmates was the primary reason that it was recommended by the judge in Josh’s case.

Of course, Josh is unlikely to benefit from the program, as he still maintains that he’s innocent of any wrongdoing.

And with any course of treatment, the first step is admitting that you have a problem.

Josh will be surrounded by sex offenders, which might mean that he’ll be less of a target for violence and harassment.

But even among sex offenders, predators who victimized children are regarded as the lowest of the low.

In Fayetteville, Josh was kept in solitary confinement for his own protection.

But it seems that that won’t be the case in Seagoville.

One source close to the situation has confirmed to In Touch that Josh “is terrified of prison,” and it seems that he has every reason to be.

“Even though Seagoville is low security and not known for violence against inmates, it does happen,” the insider said.

“And he’s going in for what fellow criminals and inmates despise: a child sex offender.”

On Reddit, one recent parolee confirmed that Seagoville convicts are generally disgusted by the sex offenders with whom they share living quarters.

“I was there when I first started my time. Thank god I got in trouble and got shipped out because that place is full of child molesters!” this person wrote.

“If you run into anyone who was there recently check there paperwork! Chances are they’re a child molester!”

The fact that Josh will be surrounded by his own kind might make him safer, as he won’t be the lone degenerate — but it could also mean that he’ll receive less special protection from prison staff.

With 1,700 inmates, Seagoville is a much larger facility than Josh’s former home in Fayetteville.

And the location itself is likely to result in at least one major change to Josh’s day-to-day life.

In Fayetteville, he was just a 20 minute drive away from his family’s home in Tontitown, Arkansas.

Now, family and friends will have to drive six hours and cross state lines in order to visit Josh.

Josh’s wife, Anna, doesn’t have a job (Duggar women are generally forbidden to work outside of the home) but she does have seven kids to take care of, which could make it difficult to set off on a 12-hour roundtrip journey.

Yes, life will be different for Josh at Seagoville.

Fortunately, he’ll have a whole 12 years to get used to the changes!
