This is the plot twist we did NOT see coming!
On Wednesday evening, Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini shocked the world by revealing they’re totally back together! Now, look, if you’ve been following the rumor mill online, this might not be a total surprise. After their really brutal breakup in September, there were some rumblings that they were seen out and about together. But nothing was confirmed. It seemed like they were trying to keep things on the down low and embark on a more private love life moving forward. However, that all changed as 2025 came to a close and they announced they’re not only back together but ALL IN, so in love, as if nothing happened!

Chase was first to drop the bombshell by taking to his Instagram to share a photoshoot of loved-up photos with the singer. Hinting at their turbulent year, he captioned it:
“Something I’ve learned this year: don’t take advantage of the most beautiful things that in 33 years of life are fleeting. Take accountability, learn from mistakes. Lean into love and say it often. 2026 my year of growth, my year of truth. Starting here, starting now. Happy new years
“

“Take accountability,” huh? Hmm. As you’ll recall, a DeuxMoi blind item in the fall claimed they split after the “TV golden boy” cheated on the “songbird.” And it sounded messy AF! A source dished:
“A certain TV golden boy has his team scrambling after a filming-town fling spiraled into something he couldn’t smooth over with charm. The local woman he got involved with threatened to go public, not just with messages, but with bigger claims his camp couldn’t risk hitting the timeline. Cue an emergency visit, rapid-fire meetings, and NDAs pushed across the table until everything was quietly handled.”
WTF?? Whatever was going on, it was said to be too much for Kelsea, who asked him to pick up his things and leave their shared home!
At the time of the split, Chase took to his IG to tell fans he didn’t know why he’d been blocked by Kelsea, writing in part, “It is what it is.” Frankly, kinda an odd thing to say given the circumstances. But making many fans’ jaws drop, in Chase’s new post, he included an image of himself lying on a kitchen floor, pointing at a kitchen towel that read, “it is what it is.” OMG! He even added Kelsea’s tag right on the towel. Poking fun at the split already?? Jeez, these two move fast!
The Outer Banks star, who just wrapped filming of the Netflix show for good, also addressed another big change. Sharing a solo shot of himself showing off a new hairdo, he wrote:
“Crashed out so hard I shaved my head (again). TIME TO BE FUNNY ON SOCIAL MEDIA NOW”
Hmm…
So, what does the musician have to say about all this?? Interestingly, she posted a year recap on her feed, but it didn’t include Chase. She wrote alongside images of herself with her dog and friends:
“2025, you were the most glittery, stress rash inducing year i’ve ever experienced. i will always remember you.

But in her Story, she added a photo of her embracing the actor at sunset, sharing:
“messy year for the heart, messy year for the outside coming in, messy year for the way it became an out of our hands portrayal of it. but what i’ll say, and all i really care to share indefinitely with my personal life anymore, is that i really love love. i believe in it, i believe in him, and i believe in breaking patterns. now go kiss your person and stop speculating”
