As many recall, there was a WGA strike in 2007 to 2008, and Alex, who passed away in 2020, kept on working.
Ken used a part of a released to react to the fan’s comment.

Ken is not part of the WGA nor SAG-AFTRA. However, his co-host, Mayim Bialik, is.
She stepped back from the show a few months ago out of solidarity with the WGA, and is also part of SAG-AFTRA.
In order to keep filming for season 40, which will kick off on September 11, some changes were made in order to abide by the rules of the strikes, and also accommodate the contestants.
