Kevin Costner Says Estranged Wife Christine Is Using 'Stalling Tactics' Amid Divorce Battle

Kevin Costner is making some new claims against his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner amid their divorce.

ET writes that according to court documents, the 68-year-old Yellowstone actor has claimed that Christine is using “stalling tactics” to prolong their divorce battle.

Kevin‘s legal team hit back against Christine‘s claim that she didn’t understand her prenuptial agreement with Kevin when she signed it, deeming it “gamesmanship of the worst sort.”

Christine avoids answering many of the Requests for Admission (‘RFAs’) based on the claim that the ordinary words used, words like ‘understood’ and ‘negotiation’ are too vague,” his lawyers continued.

The docs add that Christine “cannot admit or deny an RFA because she does not understand the word ‘understood.’”

In July, a filing from Kevin‘s team alleged that the prenup Christine signed when she married Kevin in 2004 stipulated that he would have exclusive possession and use of his properties and that she would vacate any property she was living in within 30 days of filing a divorce petition.

Christine responded by saying that she would not move out unless Kevin agreed to pay her $248,000 per month in child support. The pair share three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.

Kevin‘s lawyers went on to say that Christine has “thrown roadblock after roadblock up in an unjustified effort to avoid answering this discovery.”

The docs continued, “Her refusal to answer these RFAs is just a stalling tactic designed to avoid admitting there the parties did not enter into any transmutation agreements.”

A hearing has been set for September 6 to address the matter, with another one scheduled in November. Christine filed for divorce in May after 18 years of marriage.

Last month, a judge ruled how much Kevin would have to pay in temporary child support payments. Find out more here.
