Kim Zolciak-Biermann Defends Daughter in Wake of Shocking DUI Arrest

Kim Zolciak-Biermann is not about to abandon her child in a time of need.

On Tuesday, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star broke her silence on daughter Ariana Biermann’s recent DUI arrest, which took place around 1 a.m. this past Saturday.

According to the official police report obtained by E! News, Ariana was driving a car that collided with another vehicle at the time and on the date mentioned above.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann smiles here alongside her daughter, Ariana, who was arrested in the summer of 2022 for DUI.

Upon being taken to Forsyth County Jail, the 20-year old was charged with three misdemeanors: driving under the influence of alcohol, improper/erratic lane change and underage possession/purchase of alcohol.

Shortly after the incident took place and this news went viral, Ariana’s attorney denied his client was drunk.

“Ariana was involved in a minor fender bender. When police arrived on scene, the investigating officer immediately initiated an investigation for DUI,” the lawyer said on Saturday.

“Despite Ariana’s constant invocation that she was upset and anxious from the minor accident, the officer incorrectly concluded she was impaired by alcohol. That was not the case.

“She wholly denies these allegations and intends to fight these charges because she is not guilty of them.”

Per the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, a cop said he smelled alcohol on Ariana’s breath after arriving of the scene of the crash and “observed signs of impairment” during a field sobriety evaluation.

The report also states that while a different officer was conducting a horizontal nystagmus test on Ariana, he observed “four out of six clues” that the former reality star was intoxicated.

Kim, however, takes extreme issue with this analysis.

On her Instagram Stories page this week, Zolciak-Biermann shared a follow-up statement made by her daughter’s lawyer.

“Ariana was involved in a minor fender bender.

“When police arrived on the scene, the investigating officer immediately initiated an investigation for DUI of alcohol,” wrote Zolciak-Biermann.

“Despite Ariana’s constant invocation that she was upset and anxious from the minor accident, the officer incorrectly concluded she was impaired.

“That was not the case.”

Zolciak-Biermann declared that Ariana was “not impaired by any substance, including alcohol or marijuana” and continued:

Since she was being cooperative and honest, she admitted to consuming marijuana the day before, meaning over 24 hours prior to her contact with the law.

In addition, the arresting officer, as evidenced by his own police report, charged Ariana with impairment by alcohol.

She wholly denies these allegations and intends to fight these charges because she is not guilty of them.

We appreciate the general public allowing this case to be tried on its merits, and not rhetoric or incorrect conclusions.

Ariana’s boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, was a passenger in the car at the time of the accident.

McLeroy was also arrested this weekend … for allegedly driving under the influence, as well as reportedly furnishing alcohol to a minor and violating the conditions of his limited driving permit.

Zolciak-Biermann, meanwhile, is also mother to 25-year-old daughter Brielle Biermann.

The former Bravo personality shares Kroy Jagger, 10, Kash Kade, 9, and 8-year-old twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren with husband Kroy Biermann.

The couple has been married since 2011
