Lea Michele Sat Behind Ziwe at the U.S. Open After Ziwe's 2022 Interview Went Viral

A lot of fans want to know everything that happened in one certain suite at the 2023 U.S. Open men’s finals after Lea Michele was seen sitting behind talk show host Ziwe.

Ziwe was in attendance with her friend Emily Ratajkowski while Lea was seen sitting behind them with husband Zandy Reich on Sunday (September 10) at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

Watch What Happens Live digital producer Frank Costa tweeted a photo and said, “Lea Michele sitting behind Ziwe and Emily Ratajkowski at the US Open. I need a full breakdown of any & all interactions.” The tweet has already been seen more than 131,000 times and is starting to go viral.

One person responded, “I could watch a documentary about this photo.” Another said, “There were none. Lea knows better.”

So, why are people interested in the interactions? It all has to do with a 2022 interview that Ziwe conducted on her Showtime series with Glee‘s Amber Riley.

When Amber was a guest on the talk show, Ziwe grilled her on the allegations that Lea is racist. While her name was never mentioned during the interview, it was clear they were talking about Lea following the allegations made by former co-star Samantha Ware in 2020.

After discussing race wars, Ziwe asked Amber, “Now, speaking of getting down in the muck, you said that one of your famous coworkers wasn’t racist. Did you mean that she was?”

Back in June 2020, Amber said during an Instagram Live, “I’m not going to say that Lea Michele is racist. That’s not what I’m saying. That was the assumption because of what’s going on right now in the world and it happened toward a Black person.”

Amber tried to deflect from Ziwe‘s question, but she persisted and asked, “Would you say that your famous coworker doesn’t see race and is, in fact, rude to all of her coworkers?”

“I think that she would probably say she doesn’t see race,” Amber said. “But as we discussed earlier, everyone does.”

Last year, Lea responded to some of the allegations made about her in the past.
