To anyone out there thinking about stopping Lizzo‘s shine, please think twice! On Sunday, the Truth Hurts rapper took to Instagram and alleged that she and her group of friends were forced to leave their vacation rental home days before their stay had ended over a video of her twerking in a pool.
In her public clap back to the unnamed male homeowner who she accused of kicking them out, the star delivered a poignant reminder for haters (and all you Karens and Kens out there) to mind their business when Black women are busy enjoying themselves!

The 32-year-old uploaded a video of herself twerking while scantily clad in a red bikini, writing:
“This is for the man that kicked me out of my 7-day rental 3 days early yesterday. This is for mocking the way that I dance and for using Instagram footage of me and my 6 black homegirls to say that we could ‘hurt him’ and threaten to call the police.”
Threatening to call the cops on a harmless group of Black women, especially in this climate? Oof. Not a good look. Lizzo added:
“I know you’re watching my page so I just want you to know you can’t stop this black girls’ shine. Thanks for kicking us out cus this house is better anyways. Xoxo 🖕🏾”
Although she declined to let followers know where she and her pals were vacationing, alongside a second IG video, she did clarify that everyone in her entourage got tested for the novel coronavirus beforehand and they all tested negative!
“Just a group of melanated girls soaking up the sun. No rhyme or reason. (We all took the responsibility to get covid tests and luckily we’re all negative. Please be safe and wear your masks.”

Going a little further back on her feed, the performer uploaded two separate videos of her and her friends twerking in a pool, making us wonder if these were so dangerous and threatening the group needed to be thrown out??
So far, there hasn’t been any public response from the property owner (or else, we’d name him) but Lizzo’s feelings on the matter seem pretty clear.

We love the way the Juice singer always keeps it real with her audience and has the best rebuttals on deck but man, even we’re tired of hearing stories like this about her. Let this woman live her best life in peace, darn it! It’s nice to hear the group was able to continue their festivities at another, more welcome and inviting location. But more to our earlier point, it would be a smart idea to check your tone and privilege before allegedly coming at your guests over something like this. Just saying!
