It's been a full year since Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer were fired from Teen Mom 2.
We imagine that a lot has changed for the couple during that time, but it's tough to say for sure.
After all, Ryan never uses social media; Mackenzie is very careful about what she posts, and the two of them aren't being followed by an MTV camera crew 24/7 anymore.
But the more things change, the more they stay the same ...
... and in the case of Ryan and Maci that means she's still running the show while he still sits around playing video games.
According to a new report from UK tabloid The Sun, Mackenzie has landed a job with a local marketing firm.
The outlet claims that she's also running her own "fitness business," but it's unclear exactly what that entails.
For his part, Ryan is still refurbishing off-road vehicles, but no one seems to know if he gets paid for his work, or if it's merely a hobby.
Ryan was with Teen Mom 2 from the start, and Mack appeared on the show for several seasons, but insiders say the couple doesn't have much in the way of savings from their MTV days.
That's not terribly surprising, given that Edwards was arrested for drug possession multiple times during his final years on the show.
We imagine his legal fees were considerable.
But Ryan and Mackenzie say their dismissal from the show that made them famous had nothing to do with his legal troubles, and everything to do with Maci.
“Maci is all about Maci and anybody that gets in Maci’s way or doesn’t do what Maci wants gets cut out," Mackenzie told The Sun in August.
“Nobody is saying that Ryan hasn’t made mistakes, nobody is saying that I haven’t made mistakes. We own that, we’ve made mistakes but we’ve also learned from them.
“We’re allowed to grow as people and to change but Maci doesn’t allow for anybody to change in her mind," Standifer continued.
“It’s all about Maci and Maci making money and portraying on television that they’re one big happy family when they have skeletons in their closet that they don’t want out there either.
“They are very hypocritical.”
Ryan echoed those comments, claiming that Maci had him fired from the show out of fear of being exposed.
“Maci is in fear that my mom and dad will start telling the truth. She will always fight to have us off the show," Edwards told The Sun.
“Mackenzie and I were discussing, ‘Do we really want to do this anymore?’ and then I guess they made the decision for us, which was a good decision," he continued.
“And then Maci didn’t want us on the show anymore either.”
Ryan went on to claim that he's glad to be unemployed, because MTV is anti-American. Seriously.
“What got me is when they took my flag down off the porch. They laid it on the ground and when I went down to pick it up they told me it was in their shot," he recalled.
“I got real angry because it was an American flag and they said it was in their way. I said ‘Either put it back on the post or leave’ and that was the last time they ever came back, I guess.”
Edwards claims this is part of a pattern he observed during his time at the network.
“MTV just stands for a lot of things that my wife and I don’t support, politics and respecting people’s rights, that kind of stuff," he said.
“I just don’t agree with them on a lot of stuff and I didn’t want to work for some place that was like that anymore, they were just way too far out there for me."
So instead, Ryan works nowhere at all.
Hey, if Mackenzie is willing to put up with it, who are we to judge?
But a part of her must miss those MTV days when her husband at least had something going on!
