Comedian Matt Rife has issued a public apology to his ex girlfriend Kate Beckinsale and her ex Pete Davidson!

If you forgot, the 28-year-old funny man and the 50-year-old actress dated back in 2017, before it “fizzled out,” but were seen together again in 2018.

Then, Kate was linked to Pete in 2019 and Matt shared some advice for the fellow comedian to “run.”

In a recent interview, Matt apologized to both Kate and Pete for his comments a few years ago.

“I gave that advice because I was only speaking from personal experience, having been together and finding out that we weren’t the most compatible match,” he said in Elle‘s Thirst Trap video. “I wanted to make sure that both of them were careful with their emotions and didn’t head into something that they also wouldn’t, that also wouldn’t work out.”

The initial question was, “You once gave Pete Davidson advice to run and be careful when it came to dating Kate Beckinsale. Why was this your advice?” After his first answer, he was told he only answered half of it, so he then added to it.

“I gave the advice to be careful because I had just gotten out of a relationship with somebody that I unfortunately found out we weren’t compatible,” he said. “And I always want people to, you know, protect their emotions and their personal feelings.”

“And I told him to run because I was being a petty a–hole. I regret saying that,” Matt added. “Pete, if you’re out there, sorry I said that. Kate, I also apologize that I said that. I shouldn’t have said that.”

Earlier in the video, Matt said that Kate was the most famous person he has matched with on a dating app.

He also confirmed that he is currently dating actress Jessica Lord.
