Variety says that the decision to suspend the deals is “policy”, as talent is no longer able to render their services because of the strikes.

Suspensions of the deals started as early as May, shortly after the WGA strike started. At the time, this didn’t include producers who had shows in production.

After SAG-AFTRA members joined the strike, many of the projects planned had to be paused and because of the policy in place, the deals were suspended.

Due to the strikes, many networks have changed up their upcoming schedules for the Fall 2023-2024 TV season, including Disney+, CBS and more.
