Miss Benny Seemingly Accuses Candace Cameron Bure of Homophobic Behavior on Set of 'Fuller House'

Miss Benny is looking back on her time working with Candace Cameron Bure for Netflix’s Fuller House.

The 24-year-old Glamorous star played a character named Casey, becoming the first gay character in the franchise.

However, she revisited her time on the show in a recent video and seemingly accused Candace of homophobia.

In a video on TikTok, Miss Benny responded to a fan who asked if Candace was homophobic. While she didn’t name any names, her response seems to address the actress who played DJ Tanner in both Full House and Fuller House.

“One of the Tanner sisters was very publicly… not for the girls, if that makes sense,” she said. “I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person allegedly was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show. I was also sort of warned and prepared that this person’s fan base might be encouraged to target me specifically.”

Miss Benny continued, saying, “The fact that this teenage actor who’s coming in to make jokes about wearing a scarf is suddenly a target from an adult is crazy to me. To this day, despite working on the show every day for two weeks straight, I have only had a conversation with one of the Tanner sisters.”

Despite all that, she said that she had “a really fun time actually shooting the show with all the other actors who were willing to talk to me.”

“And the show ultimately led to me being on Glamorous on Netflix. So everything happens for a reason,” she said, adding that it “continuously blows my mind how queer people, specifically queer young adults and children, are being targeted and having to advocate for themselves against adults.”

This is not the first younger star to have an issue with Candace. The actress has been called out by other stars for her comments on “traditional marriage,” too.

If you missed it, Miss Benny recently revealed how her life as a trans woman inspired her new Netflix project.
