A popular beauty influencer in Austria has been found dead nearly a week after she disappeared — and it’s all because her ex-boyfriend allegedly confessed.
According to the Styrian State Police, 31-year-old Stefanie Pieper went missing on Sunday, November 23, after returning home from a Christmas party. She was reported to have exited a taxi with a friend upon arriving at her apartment in the morning, but she never showed up to a scheduled photo shoot. When Stefanie “could not be reached,” her family members alerted the authorities.

Law enforcement launched an investigation and soon became suspicious that the content creator’s 31-year-old ex-boyfriend “might be connected to her disappearance.” He was arrested after police discovered he made “several” trips in his car to Slovenia:
“The man is believed to have traveled to Slovenia several times in his car. He could not be contacted by the investigating police. On Monday evening, November 24, 2025, the Slovenian police reported that a car had caught fire in the parking lot of a casino near the border. This was the 31-year-old man’s car. He was found in the immediate vicinity of the burning vehicle and arrested by the Slovenian police. Extradition to Austria has been requested.”
It wasn’t just his travels out of the country that were suspicious. Local outlets Oe24 and 20 Minuten reported Stefanie allegedly sent a message to a friend on WhatsApp that she arrived home safely. However, the makeup artist sent another alarming message soon afterward. She texted the pal that she thought someone was in her stairwell. According to the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung, neighbors heard arguing and allegedly saw her ex-boyfriend.
On Tuesday, the Styrian State Police revealed two of her ex-boyfriend’s family members were arrested amid the search for Stefanie – and that his car led to no clues about her whereabouts:
“The detainees are in police custody and are being questioned. Forensic examination of the ex-boyfriend’s car yielded no clues as to the missing woman’s whereabouts. Investigations are being conducted in both Slovenia and Austria, and there is close cooperation between the two authorities. Search operations carried out in Slovenia have so far been unsuccessful; these will continue tomorrow.”
The ex-boyfriend allegedly came clean about what happened — and that Stefanie is no longer alive. Kronen Zeitung reported police found her remains in a forest in Slovenia after he allegedly admitted to strangling her and telling them where he hid the body. Police claimed he said he hid her body in a suitcase.
