Whitney Leavitt is speaking out about Nick Viall and Natalie Joy mom shaming her!
Back in December, the couple came under fire (again) after judging The Secret Lives of Mormon Lives star when she signed on to play the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway following her elimination from Dancing With The Stars. They kept unfairly questioning on The Viall Files podcast how she plans to prioritize and manage being a mom to her and Connor Leavitt‘s three kids — Sedona, Liam, and Billy — while working so much.
Nick and Natalie apparently do not understand that many mothers have careers and lives in addition to families and are doing just fine! They also did not judge Taylor Frankie Paul, who also has three kids, the same way when she became The Bachelorette! It sounds like, to us, that the pair are holding a grudge because Whitney turned down doing their podcast! Just saying! Watch their comments on the podcast (below) if you haven’t yet:
Whitney did not respond to Nick and Natalie’s mom-shaming remarks, but her hubby fiercely came to her defense at the time! But now, she has finally broken her silence! The 32-year-old reality star told The Cut on Thursday about the drama:
“I didn’t listen to the full episode. I was so confused because I was like, ‘This feels so left field. Is this because I always say no to your podcast?’ Legitimately, that crossed my mind.”
We wondered, too, girl! Whitney went on to explain why she didn’t speak out at first, saying:
“I didn’t wanna respond because sometimes no response is the best response. But that perspective to me is crazy. I would want my mom, my daughter, any woman, to go fulfill her dreams. It seems like such an obvious thing to me. I don’t need to state the obvious. And honestly, the internet did it for them.”
We cannot stress this enough — Do not shame a mom for going out and pursuing her dreams. She’s allowed to have a life and career outside of her kids.
Ultimately, Whitney got the last laugh! Although the Hulu personality planned to leave on March 15, she extended her run in Chicago due to “an overwhelming demand” from the public! She’ll now remain with the production from March 23 through April 5! How exciting!
