Things are going to be slowing down a bit for Nick Cannon as he attempts to move past the controversy over his recent anti-Semitic comments.
On Thursday, the Masked Singer host announced on Twitter that he’ll be taking some time away from his Los Angeles-based morning show on Power 106 FM titled, Nick Cannon Mornings, as backlash continues even after he apologized for offensive remarks made on an episode of his Cannon’s Class podcast.
Just one day later on Friday, Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury revealed the TV personality’s upcoming talk show is also officially on hold.

The companies released a statement to Entertainment Tonight explaining Canon’s series will not debut this year, but they are standing by him and hope to debut his talk show in the fall of 2021. Their full message on the matter reads:
“The ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show will not debut this year. After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere. We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views,” the statement reads. “We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show. Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury condemn anti-Semitism, racism and hate speech. It runs counter to everything we stand for.”
As a reminder, the TV personality has also since been fired from MTV and its parent company ViacomCBS and his comedy variety show Wild ‘N Out has is no longer airing on the network. In the wake of the incident, Nick initially demanded full ownership of the show and insisted his former bosses did not “understand or respect the power of the Black community.” But after seeking counsel from trusted Jewish leaders, Canon later publically apologized.
The comedian also gave fans a scare after posting cryptic messages about leaving Earth shortly after his apology. We hope he takes this piece of news about his talk show in stride and continues to take care of himself while learning from this mistake!
