Pamela Anderson is finally opening up about what happened between her and Liam Neeson!
Back in July, the pair sent fans into a frenzy when they debuted their romance during the press tour for The Naked Gun. They got extremely cozy together on the red carpet or in interviews. Heck, Pamela and Liam even kissed on the Today show! Following the tragic death of his wife, Natasha Richardson, in 2009, he seemed to give up on love, so people adored seeing him and the Baywatch alum so smitten. And one of the best parts? Their families were totally on board! Even Natasha’s own sister was happy for them!

However, the bubble soon burst when reports dropped claiming their relationship was all a publicity stunt to boost ticket sales for their film. Ugh. It’s something we didn’t want to believe, so what really went on? Was it all fake? Neither addressed the rumors — until now!
Pamela spoke to People in a new cover story on Tuesday, confirming that she and Liam WERE together! Unfortunately, it sounds like they are no longer romantically involved, but they really did get together after they finished filming The Naked Gun. She said:
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming.”
According to Pamela, they spent an “intimate week” together at his home in upstate New York:
“I had my own room. Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.”
The 58-year-old actress shared that they “went to dinner at a tiny French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson.” Oh, he seemed pretty serious about their relationship! Whoa! Pamela also said they spent time in his garden, and she “tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint,” adding:
“I was happy to help, and he appreciated.”
Aww! That’s so cute and wholesome! Pamela and Liam had what she calls a “romantic lost week,” during which he even chased off a bear from the breakfast window in his bathrobe. Whoa. However, it didn’t last long. They eventually had to get back to reality. She explained:
“We went our separate ways to work on other films.”
Ugh! Couldn’t they keep it up afterward? Well, the duo reconnected while promoting The Naked Gun over the summer. That is when we all saw their insane chemistry and couple-y moments on full display. Clearly, they couldn’t hide that they were romantically involved at one point. Pamela expressed that she and Liam “were having fun,” noting their connection is “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.” Although people may think it was all a PR stunt, The Last Showgirl star insists it wasn’t:
“I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.’”
That said, she truly feels they should be strictly pals:
“I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
Okay, Pamela, just break our heart, why don’t you? It’s fine. She revealed they last saw each other in August when the Love Actually actor attended her performance of Camino Real at the Williamstown Theater Festival:
“He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me.”
Although their romance is over, Pammy knows they “will always be in each other’s lives.” We hope so! We were rooting for them! They have such a special connection, and it would be a shame for that to end just because they aren’t dating!
