Wells Adams and Sarah Hyland are improvising!
The happily engaged couple had big plans to tie the knot on Saturday, August 8, before the coronavirus pandemic forced them to postpone their nuptials. However, the two did not let the special date go by without celebrating their would-be wedding day!

Keeping it small and intimate, the pair pretended to exchange wedding vows at a vineyard to mark the occasion. The Modern Family star captioned photos of the moment on Instagram, writing:
“A couple, a pandemic, & a postponed wedding: A series. We were supposed to get married today. Instead… we took pictures and drank wine. I love you to Pluto & back @wellsadams .”
The 36-year-old Bachelor in Paradise alum also shared a similar photo on his feed, writing:
“We were supposed to get married today. We didn’t. But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool.”
We agree! This is very cool and super cute. See his post (below):
As you may likely recall, Wells and Sarah got engaged on a beach in Fiji last July, and ever since then, they’ve been counting down the days till they could say “I Do” in front of their friends, family, and loved ones. That sentiment aside, they are not willing to jeopardize anyone’s lives to do so! Telling People of their decision to postpone the wedding amid COVID-19 last month, Hyland said:
“I think right now there are more important things to worry about. We definitely want to get married one day and have the wedding of our dreams and have everybody that we love there. But we postponed wedding planning because we want to be able to focus on what’s important right now, and that’s helping to spread information to wear masks and to only go out for essential needs and also take a really big look inside yourself and reflect on how you treat others.”
The 29-year-old reiterated her support for wearing face masks, sharing a snap of her and her fiancé in matching Mr. and Mrs. coverings on her Instagram Story:
Like countless other couples who were forced into this scenario, they’ve found a way to look on the bright side. Adams told the outlet:
“One of the only positive things that has come out of this is we’re forced to slow down and maybe think about things in a different way. There is a little bit of silver lining. Maybe something good can come out of this. And I’ve found it really wonderful to be with Sarah this entire time. It’s been nice to get to know her on a deeper level.
Before, we were working so much that it was a little bit like ships passing in the night. It’s been nice to keep falling in love with Sarah.”
Ugh, talk about relationship goals! If this is how adorable they are about their would-be wedding day, we’ll make sure to have ample boxes of tissues ready for whenever the official ceremony happens.
