Savannah Guthrie won’t be at the Olympics.
The Today Show host’s world has been spun upside down after her mother Nancy went missing on Sunday. Arizona authorities have been looking all over for her as they believe something criminal happened. They haven’t said exactly what evidence they’ve found inside the home, but it was suspicious enough, they think her residence is a “crime scene.” Super, super scary!

As a result of this, Savannah skipped her hosting duties on The Today Show on Monday morning, and it seems more absences are coming. According to sources via Page Six, she’s expected to drop out of Olympics coverage.
Savannah was set to be in Italy on Friday, where she would stay for a week to report on the opening of the 2026 Winter Games with Hoda Kotb. Terry Gannon and Shaun White were also expected to join her. But now, they’ll have to go on without her. An NBC source insisted:
“There is no way Savannah will be there.”
This would have been the anchor’s fourth time hosting an Olympic opening ceremony. NBC and Savannah have not confirmed the reports at this time.
We totally understand her need to stay with family, though. That should, of course, be her top priority! She’s currently in Arizona as an investigation continues. We hope her mother is found safe as soon as possible!
