Taylor Swift just broke another record as fans are rushing to pick up tickets to see her Eras Tour concert film in theaters next month. This one was previously held by Marvel!
The 33-year-old “Shake It Off” pop icon announced that her best-selling concert tour would be heading to theaters on October 13. Within hours of the presale opening, she’d brought in $10 million.
The updated sales number after a full day are so massive that they blow Marvel’s previous record out of the water.

According to Variety, after a full day of availability, Taylor‘s movie generated $26 million for AMC Theatres. That’s almost $10 million more than the previous record-holder – Spider-Man: No Way Home – generated in 2019.
The Marvel movie, which starred Tom Holland, brought in $16.9 million in the same time frame.
It’s worth pointing out that $26 million only represents how much money Taylor has made at AMC. The movie will also be available at other theaters, and we don’t have those numbers yet.
There’s even speculation that Taylor‘s movie will cross $100 million in its opening weekend, a feat that only five other movies have achieved this year. Interestingly, three of those movies are feature Marvel characters – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The other two are Barbie and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
If you missed it, the excitement about the concert film is so high that another movie already moved its premiere date so that it wasn’t in direct competition at the box office.
