Teen Mom’s Ryan Edwards Pleads Guilty To Harassment Of Estranged Wife Mackenzie — And He’s Going To Rehab

Ryan Edwards is a guilty man.

If you’ve been keeping up with the growing mountain of legal troubles the Teen Mom alum has been accumulating over the past month, you’ll probably know that he was due for a court appearance at some point in the near future.

As a recap, the 35-year-old was arrested last month in Tennessee for harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and for violating an order of protection, after his estranged wife Mackenzie Edwards reported him to local police for posting lewd photos of her on Instagram. When authorities confronted him, they also discovered he’d broken said order of protection, which had been issued the week prior following a domestic dispute, by contacting Mackenzie’s father.

The 27-year-old sought out police intervention after she interpreted a phone call of Ryan’s, which she recorded, as threatening — after telling the reality star she no longer wanted to be with him. He told her:

“Yeah I hear you, but you… look… I guess you didn’t hear me. What’s about to happen to you is gonna be ugly.”

He also spat something about “dudes” coming to her work, who she “better f**king lie to,” which were later discovered to be members of the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club, a gang notorious for distributing child pornography and dealing cocaine, which Mackenzie alleged Ryan had recently joined, according to the US Sun. She wrote in her court filings:

“Phone call threatening me, saying I’m not going to like what’s going to happen to me by ‘Black Pistons MC’ that he joined. They ‘will find me.’”

After that, Mackenzie officially filed for divorce, and was granted a restraining order against Ryan, and temporary custody of their son Jagger and daughter Stella, according to InTouch Weekly. Then, Ryan was arrested AGAIN at the beginning of the month, for “stalking” and violating the protection order for the second time.

Now, Ashely’s Reality Roundup has reported that the father had an emergency court hearing at Hamilton County Court in Tennessee Tuesday. The US Sun later confirmed that Ryan pleaded guilty to a harassment charge, and was ordered to attend rehab treatment for his drug problems, and abstain from contacting the victim and posting about her on social media. Additionally, a judge required him to wear a GPS monitor while he’s on probation for 11 months and 29 days.

As for his prior charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, stalking, and violation of the order of protection, they were dismissed — for now — but his possession of a controlled substance charge is what landed him the court ordered rehab. The outlet reported that if he demonstrates good behavior for six months, the sentence could potentially be reduced.

His parents, Jen and Larry Edwards were reportedly present for the hearing. As of now, Ryan is due back in court on April 20.

What do you think of the ongoing situation?? Was his court ordered rehab sentence enough, or should he face heavier ramifications next month? Let us know in the comments down below.
