Friends, “The One With All the Thanksgivings”

In our opinion, this is one of the best Thanksgiving episodes of Friends! After eating Monica (Courteney Cox)’s home-cooked meal, the group swapped horror stories about past turkey days — like the time when she cut off Chandler (Matthew Perry)’s toe by accident, or when Joey (Matt LeBlanc) thought it was a smart idea to put a turkey on his head. Monica ends up shoving one on her own head later, too! It is the perfect episode for a good laugh because, let’s be real, there is nothing funnier than a turkey on someone’s head!
Watch on HBO Max.
Gossip Girl, “The Treasure of Serena Madre”

Craving some drama on Thanksgiving Day (but not your own)? Look no further than Gossip Girl, where every holiday episode promises to have a whole lot of scandal going on, especially in “The Treasure of Serena Madre!” Who can ever forget that, as Whatcha Say by Jason Derulo plays in the background, every single character at the dinner table has some sort of beef with someone else! Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) is pissed at Eric van der Woodsen for sabotaging her at cotillion, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) thinks her mom is pregnant and is upset about it, and Serena (Blake Lively)? She is confronted about her affair with Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford)’s cousin, Tripp van der Bilt, by his wife! Oh, and her mom finds out! It’s the perfect entertainment while you snack on pie this turkey day — or distraction from whatever argument is happening at your dinner table! LOLz!
Watch either on Netflix or HBO Max.
Gilmore Girls, “A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving”

Gilmore Girls is the A+ comfort fall show in general, so why not enjoy it during the holidays? “A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving” finds Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) putting their stomachs to the ultimate test when they attend (and eat at) four Thanksgiving meals in one day! Jeez! Could you imagine? We’d be STUFFED after the first dinner! But if you want to see a first kiss moment, some mother-daughter drama, and the battle between human Kirk (Sean Gunn) and cat Kirk, you’ll enjoy this episode!
Watch on Hulu or Netflix.
How I Met Your mother, “Slapsgiving”

Next up? Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) are celebrating their first Thanksgiving together as a married couple. Lily is stressing over making the perfect meal for their friends, while Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Ted (Josh Radnor) are dealing with the tension between them after their recent breakup. But the highlight of the entire episode? It involves Barney and Marshall! Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) lost a slap bet, so Marshall won the right to slap him three times. He now lives in fear of when Marshall will deliver the third slap. Whether he will collect payment, you’ll have to see for yourself!
Watch on Hulu or Netflix.
Saturday Night Live

Of course, we’re including the Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving special on this list! Over the years, the late-night sketch comedy captured all of the relatable, hilarious, and ridiculous moments of the holiday. Remember when only one song by Adele could stop a whole family fighting? Or The Californians’ Thanksgiving? Classics! Luckily for everyone, the show compiled some of its best sketches together for your viewing pleasure.
Watch on Peacock.
Modern Family, “Three Turkeys”

Oh boy! Modern Family knows how to capture the chaos of the holidays with family! Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O’Neill) try to pretend they are in Mexico for the holiday. But in reality? They are at home for some alone time and to avoid their big family after the trip gets canceled! Meanwhile, Claire (Julie Bowen) hands over the reins to her hubby Phil (Ty Burrell) when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, and things get too hot in the kitchen when he turns to a practically pornographic cooking video for guidance! That’s not all! Although Claire left Phil in charge, she does not trust him to make a proper meal, so she secretly cooked her own turkey, hiding it in the garage just in case things go awry. Spoiler: they did! It’s a chaotic mess that results, as the episode title suggests, in three different turkeys!
Watch on Hulu or Peacock.
This Is Us, “Pilgrim Rick”

Prepare to get all the feels with This Is Us! Showing two different but interconnected Thanksgivings, this emotional episode shows the Pearson family in the past embarking on a six-hour road trip to spend the holiday with Rebecca (Mandy Moore)’s mom. However, they never make it to their final destination because the car breaks down, forcing them to stay overnight at the Pinewood Lodge, where Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) gets creative to turn the day around! In the present day, things aren’t so great. There is a breakup, a big secret revealed, and more!
Watch on Hulu.
Glee, “Thanksgiving”

The Glee’s Thanksgiving episode in Season 4 finds Finn (RIP Cory Monteith), who took over the club for Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison), reuniting with his former classmates Quinn (Dianna Agron), Mercedes (Amber Riley), Puck (Mark Salling), Mike (Harry Shum Jr.), and Santana (RIP Naya Rivera). They all came back to help the new kids prep for Sectionals, which doesn’t go without a hitch later on, all because Marley (Melissa Benoist) faints during the performance of Psy‘s Gangnam Style. While we love the mini-reunion of the OGs, you should honestly tune in to see Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer), and Isabelle (Sarah Jessica Parker) perform a mashup of Let’s Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time in the middle of the McKinley High alum’s apartment in New York City! It’s so fun and ridiculous!
Watch on Hulu.
Seinfeld, “The Mom & Pop Store”

Another classic episode! Jerry’s (Jerry Seinfeld) dentist throws a party at his apartment for the holiday. While Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Kramer (Michael Richards), and George (Jason Alexander) are all invited, Jerry isn’t sure if he is. However, he decides to crash the party anyway because he can’t find a dentist to see him for a toothache so close to Thanksgiving. Elsewhere, Kramer is also supporting a local shoe repair shop… by giving away all of Jerry’s sneakers to clean. Jerry can’t catch a break! Ha! George tries to find out if his new car used to belong to a celebrity, while Elaine grabs a spot for her boss to carry the parade’s Woody Woodpecker balloon. But unfortunately, the loud music she listens to while picking up the ticket temporarily damages her hearing, which leads to a misunderstanding with the dentist at the party. And it all ends with the tragedy of the Woody Woodpecker balloon!
Watch on Netflix.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, “Mr. Santiago”

Meeting the parents on Thanksgiving, then you’ll relate to this episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) meets his girlfriend (spoiler, sorry!) Amy Santiago’s (Melissa Fumero) dad for the first time, and he desperately wants to impress him! As you can imagine, it didn’t go well at first! The couple also abandons Thanksgiving dinner to investigate a case Mr. Santiago (Jimmy Smits) couldn’t solve decades ago, leaving Jake’s pal and partner, Charles (Joe Lo Truglio), in charge of the turkey. And things all around go hilariously wrong!
Watch on Netflix or Peacock.
The Sopranos, “He Is Risen”

A whole lot of tension is cooking for dinner with The Sopranos! Things between Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and Ralph Cifaretto (Joe Pantoliano) remain rocky after the latter murdered Tracee (Ariel Kiley), a stripper carrying his child. However, he gets promoted to capo anyway when Gigi (John Fiore) dies of a heart attack on the toilet. You also see Jackie Aprile Jr. (Jason Cerbone) and Meadow Soprano’s (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) budding relationship, as well as his interest in joining the mafia. All while it is Thanksgiving!
Watch on HBO Max.
Schitt’s Creek, “Turkey Shoot”

Get ready for even more laughs! When David (Dan Levy) freaks out about a bug in his room and can’t kill it, Stevie (Emily Hampshire) teases him and invites him to shoot turkeys with her and other town members. David agrees to go to prove his manliness, but struggles throughout the whole ordeal, delivering some of the most hilarious moments of Season 1. And while he is off in the wilderness, what are the rest of the family up to? Moira (Catherine O’Hara) and Jocelyn (Jennifer Robertson) try to bond during a spa day, and Alexis (Annie Murphy) meets Ted (Dustin Milligan), the veterinarian!
Watch on Hulu or Amazon Prime Video.
Full House, “The Miracle of Thanksgiving”

Season 1 of Full House finds DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen) having their first Thanksgiving without their mom, so the eldest sister decides to take it upon herself to cook dinner for everyone, including her mother’s pumpkin pie. However, things don’t go as planned, leaving it up to Danny (Bob Saget), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), and Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier) to save the day. If you’re in the mood for a tearjerker, this is your episode.
Watch on Hulu.
The Big Bang Theory, “The Thanksgiving Decoupling”

In “The Thanksgiving Decoupling,” Mrs. Wolowitz invites her son Howard (Simon Helberg) and his friends home for the holiday dinner. While Sheldon (Jim Parsons) initially rejects the offer, the whole group decides to spend the holiday with her after all. And like some family gatherings, mayhem erupts. Penny (Kaley Cuoco) discovers that she got married to her ex-boyfriend Zack (Brain Thomas Smith) on a trip to Las Vegas and needs an annulment, leading to a big confrontation with Leonard (Johnny Galecki). Meanwhile, Howard tries to bond with his father-in-law, but Mike (Casey Sander) ends up connecting with Sheldon instead. They share beers, and we all get a hilariously drunk Sheldon!
Watch on HBO Max.
New Girl, “Parents”

If you want Parent Trap vibes, look to this episode of New Girl. Jess (Zooey Deschanel)’ divorced parents, played by Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner, both unexpectedly (or so we’re supposed to think) show up for Thanksgiving dinner at the same time. However, that is all part of her master plan! With her parents in the same room again, Jess decides to try to get them together despite several failed attempts in the past! Meanwhile, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and his cousin, named Big Schmidt (Rob Riggle), have a competition to find out who is manlier.
Watch on Hulu or Peacock.
Cheers, “Thanksgiving Orphans”

When the entire gang finds themselves with no plans for Thanksgiving, Carla (Rhea Perlman) decides to host a potluck at her house. Diane (Shelley Long), dressed like a pilgrim, arrives at the dinner after she left her professor’s party because he only invited her as hired help. However, the meal at Carla’s place isn’t going smoothly! The turkey is undercooked, the trimmings are cold, and everyone is now hangry. When Norm (George Wendt) and Carla begin to blame each other for the failed dinner, one epic food fight erupts! What a mess!
Watch on Hulu.
The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, “Talking Turkey”

There are several Thanksgiving-themed episodes in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but the best one happens in the first season! After the kids treat their butler, Geoffrey (Joseph Marcell), poorly, they are forced to cook the holiday dinner for the entire family. However, it does not go well. And all while Will (Will Smith)’s mother Viola (Vernee Johnson) is there for a rare visit!
Watch on Hulu.
