'The Last of Us' Showrunner Was About To Announce Who Was Cast as Abby When The Strikes Started

The Last of Us has apparently found its’ Abby.

Showrunner Craig Muzin revealed in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they were just going to announce the actor who would play the character in season two of the hit series when the strikes started.

“The strike stopped us in our tracks,” Craig admitted to the outlet after they asked about just who would play the fan fave role. “Things were in process.”

He went on, adding that “Abby was the first role that we wanted to tackle [with casting]. We’ve got a pretty good track record of making major cast announcements and people going, ‘Really?’ which will probably continue.”

Craig said that when the news in announced, he hopes fans will trust him and the casting directors of just who is playing the part.

“So people may disagree, but I think we got it right so far and the audience seems to feel we got it right and the Academy seems to feel we got it right”

If you’re unaware, Abby is a soldier of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), whose one goal in life is to avenge her father’s death by killing Joel Miller.

The Last of Us was set to kick off production on the new season as well before the strikes started.
