It turns out Travis Kelce had a huge part in getting Taylor Swift to confront Blake Lively about their issues in that vulnerable text!
Perezcious readers know speculation about how things between the longtime besties haven’t been great started after the Gossip Girl alum accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation back in 2024. After that, the famous gals noticeably began spending less time together. In fact, reports even claimed they were no longer on speaking terms! Especially after Blake dragged her into the middle of the messy legal battle!

However, we later learned they were struggling in the friendship department long before the public found out about Blake’s allegations against Justin! This week, court documents revealed bombshell private text messages between her and Taylor.
Blake reached out to the pop star in December 2024, saying she felt like a “bad friend” lately while consumed by her drama with the It Ends With Us director. Tay Tay admitted she noticed a “shift” in their dynamic that has caused some distance, writing:
“No you’re not wrong, but it’s also not a big deal. I think I’m just exhausted in every avenue of my life and in recent months had been feeling a little bit of a shift in the way you talk to me. Yes there has been a lot of the Justin stuff but I’ve been through things like this before and I know how all consuming it is. It’s more like… and I feel really bad saying anything about this because your texts have been so nice in their intent but your last few… it’s felt like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees. You said the word ‘we’ like 18 times. I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like. A plural unit… When it’s a group I’m hearing from, I feel distanced from you even more than we are geographically. And you don’t need to apologize. Just come back please.”
Whoa…
Now we know why Taylor pulled away from Blake! But there is still more! Travis apparently had a hand in the whole thing, too!
According to the US Sun on Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end urged Taylor to be “on guard” when it came to her friendship with Blake because he became super concerned about how the actress spoke to the Cruel Summer singer! An insider explained:
“Travis really loves Taylor and isn’t afraid to speak up if he thinks it’s in her best interest. Things had become uncomfortable between Taylor and Blake, and although Taylor hadn’t said anything herself, Travis noticed the way Blake was speaking to her and felt it wasn’t right.”
The source claimed Travis felt Tay should re-examine their dynamic and even pushed her to confront Blake when she reached out:
“He was very much in her ear, as he believed Blake’s behavior toward Taylor felt off, and she should take a closer look at the dynamic, saying it wasn’t how a real friend should act. When Blake later raised concerns that their friendship had changed, Taylor didn’t hold back. She was encouraged by Travis to address the situation head-on and be honest about how she was feeling.”
It’s a healthy way to work through friendship problems for sure! The insider then stressed that Travis doesn’t hate Blake but felt she wasn’t “fair” to Taylor when she had been nothing but supportive during the conflict with Justin:
“He didn’t dislike Blake, but he didn’t think it was fair on Taylor, who had been nothing but a present and loyal friend.”
And it looks like Blake would say the same thing herself! She wasn’t the greatest friend to Tay for a bit!
