Tristan Thompson‘s basketball career is back on — and it’s being continued in a city Khloé Kardashian knows and loves very much.

The 32-year-old NBA veteran signed with a new team on Sunday after sitting out most of the season in a semi-retirement. And yes, his new squad is none other than the Los Angeles Lakers, who are adding depth for their playoff push right now.

On Tuesday night, the Lakers are set to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in a play-in game to decide seeding for the upcoming NBA playoffs. The winner of that game will earn the 7-seed in the playoff bracket — so it’s a big deal for LeBron James and company to try to win and guarantee a playoff appearance.

So, on Sunday morning, the LakeShow went after some experienced talent! On Twitter and Instagram, the team announced they have signed Tristan and veteran guard Shaquille Harrison to new contracts ahead of Tuesday’s play-in game. LeBron is reuniting with Tristan after their days in Cleveland together, and the Lakers are hoping the new veteran duo can help propel them past the T-Wolves.

…And Khloé appears to be loving it, too!!!

Over on Instagram, she double-tapped the Lakers’ post (HERE) confirming they picked up Tristan for their postseason run:

So that’s an interesting way to show support!

Of course, the two co-parents live very close together in Calabasas, north of El Lay. They have been collectively taking on duties relating to the care of daughter True Thompson and their infant son, whose name has not been announced publicly. This Lakers move gets Tristan back in the basketball biz — at least for a little while — and in the only city where Khloé really wants to be. So are the stars aligning here or what??

As Perezcious readers will recall, insiders have been getting louder recently about how Tristan is still very much pining for Khloé and hoping to rekindle their romance. Late last week, an insider told ET that the former Cleveland Cavaliers star is down to re-visit his chemistry with the Revenge Body alum:

“Tristan still loves Khloé and would love to be with her again. He’s doing whatever he can to try to prove himself to Khloe and her family.”

But the reality TV veteran thus far seems to have hit him with the swerve. During her Jennifer Hudson Show appearance last week, the Kardashians star gushed about being single and loving it. And that same ET insider reported the ex-couple is specifically “not” together now and only connecting to co-parent:

“She chooses to be supportive, both publicly and privately, for the sake of their children. … They both are very dedicated and hands-on parents.”

Regardless, it remains clear that Tristan wants more.

Now we’ll just have to see if Khloé starts showing up to Lakers playoff games to sit court side. That would sure be telling, wouldn’t it?! Just saying!!
