Sydney Sweeney is sending a message to Scooter Braun — and any other man who wants to win her heart!
In her new Cosmopolitan cover story, the Euphoria star gave us some pretty clear updates on where she stands in her love life right now. In the interview, she set the record straight:
“Look, I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don’t actually need a man. I’ve got myself. I’ve got an incredible group of girlfriends. I’ve got a team of badass women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me.”
We hear you, Syd!
And it sounds like this might be a direct message to someone she was with in the past, because she talked about being with someone recently who she “really, really liked” — but they couldn’t “handle” her “world”:
“[It] takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with [me]. It’s a hard thing.”
Could this be about her romance with Scooter? We mean, we previously reported on how he was supposedly getting really annoyed with all those athletes sliding into the actress’ DMs! That might’ve been the part of her world he couldn’t “handle”… Coupled with everything else that comes with being a celeb!

This opened up a great mom and daughter convo, according to Sydney. She recalled:
“The other day, my mom and I were talking about guys, and I was like, ‘Well, he’s not really my type.’ [And my mom said,] ‘Well, maybe your type’s not working out for you, Syd’. Maybe I need to be open to other experiences and try not to put everything in this exact box of what I think I need.”
She might be looking for a new type of guy soon! But she does have some non-negotiables. In the interview, she said she needs her future man to be “athletic and outgoing and funny” who “loves their family”:
“I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me.”
And elsewhere in the interview, she did lament she struggles with loneliness, which doesn’t sound like an indication she’s still getting hot and heavy with Scoot Scoot. Hmm…
