Deion announced that he would be having surgery in a video on Thursday (June 22). The procedure is expected to take place on Friday.

He explained that he had been speaking to doctors about correcting hammer toes. However, he was unable to undergo that procedure at the moment due to poor blood flow. While getting things checked out, doctors made another discovery.

“Now this is what happened. I went to the doctors the other day to check myself out and I have two clots in my leg. One in my right leg, one in my left leg which is my thigh,” he explained. “Now I have a procedure tomorrow to try and get those clots so I can have proper blood flow through the leg so I can fix the toes.”

The athlete has lost two toes in the past due to poor circulation, according to CBS. There were concerns that additional issues could lead to him losing the foot. However, he let fans know that did not seem to be a concern.

“There’s no talk of amputation. There’s no talk of any of that whatsoever,” he assured fans. “The doctors were just telling me worst comes to worst, this was going to happen but I believe in staying right so we never have to take that left.”

We’re thinking of him and hope that the procedure goes off without a hitch!
