'Lizzie McGuire' Dad Robert Carradine Reveals Shockingly Low Residuals Check From Disney

Robert Carradine has all the evidence you need to see to explain the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The 69-year-old star might be more recognizable from Revenge of the Nerds. However, he famously played Hilary Duff‘s dad on the Disney Channel’s hit show Lizzie McGuire. He was also featured in the accompanying movie and was set to reprise his role in the since-cancelled reboot.

Lizzie McGuire isn’t even Robert‘s only Disney role over the years. That fact will make the check he received from the company all the more shocking.

Taking to Instagram on Friday (July 28), Robert shared a check he received from the company in 2019, seemingly for residuals. It was for $0.00.

“Why we’re striking,” he simply captioned the post.

It was not immediately clear if Robert had received additional funds for his roles with Disney. Nor is it clear what the pay period was for the check. However, fans were shocked.

“They spent more money printing and mailing it than what you got it’s crazy,” one wrote in the comments section.

While it’s been years since Lizzie McGuire went off air, both the series and its accompanying movie are available to stream in full on Disney+.

Robert isn’t the only star to reveal the unbelievably small amount of money they’re bringing in from hit shows since the strike was announced.

It’s also worth noting that Hilary has participated in the strike’s picket line. While doing so, she made a reference to Lizzie McGuire.
