Over the weekend, Bella Hadid bravely opened up about her ongoing battle with chronic Lyme disease.
The 26-year-old model explained that she had been invisibly suffering with the condition for 15 years, saying, “Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain.”
In 2020, Bella actually revealed some of the symptoms she has dealt with on a daily basis.

In a post on Instagram, Bella shared a list of Lyme disease symptoms that can occur. She then revealed which she had been dealing with.
Bella noted symptoms she felt including headaches, brain fog, insomnia, fatigue, a sensitivity to light and noise, anxiety, confusion, mood disorders, nausea, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, difficulty exercising, disordered eating, joint pain, thyroid dysfunction, candida, inflammation in the body, changes in body temperature, unexplained sweating, joint pain, and weight gain and loss.
In addition, she shared that she suffered from arthritis, muscle pain, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, tingling, numbness and difficulty walking.
“Every day I feel at least 10 of these attributes without fail … since I was probably 14, but more aggressively when I turned 18,” Bella shared in her 2020 post.
