The New York Jets’ starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers left the game after just a handful of plays during the team’s first offensive drive during Monday (September 11) game.
Fans immediately feared the worst when the team brought a cart to drive him back inside. If you don’t know, the cart is only brought out when a team fears the player is very injured and unable to put weight on the injury.

NFL reporter confirmed with head coach Robert Saleh, “BREAKING: #Jets HC Robert Saleh says that they’re expecting an MRI to confirm a ruptured Achilles for Aaron Rodgers.” A ruptured Achilles tendon is a season ending injury for any player, and requires months of rehab. In addition, he confirmed that Zach Wilson will be the team’s starting quarterback going forward.
There’s talk that the Jets could add a seasoned backup like Matt Ryan or Carson Wentz, but this is just speculation at this point.
