Is there more to this story??
It’s the British semi-royals vs. American reality TV royalty. On Saturday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Kris Jenner‘s 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills. Kris and Kim Kardashian seemed happy to have the Sussexes there, posting friendly photos with them on both of their Instagrams. However, these pics were almost immediately removed!

It seemed like a sort of retroactive snub… until reports claimed Harry and Meg had actually demanded the photos be taken down! Why? The party overlapped with Remembrance Day Weekend in the UK, which is like their version of Veterans Day. It’s customary for the royal family to wear a poppy in recognition, which Harry was doing. But the Suits alum didn’t have one on, riling up the Brits! So the pics were getting negative attention, and the story goes Meghan and Harry asked the KarJenners to 86 ’em!
The fam followed through with the request — but the momager was reportedly pissed about it! But should she have been? Or was she told in advance no pics of the couple??
There was a rumor going around that Kris made her guests fill out a photo consent form — and the royals had checked “no” to photography! Meaning the pics would’ve gone up without their consent, so they were well within their rights to request they be taken down! That certainly changes things… if true.
But now a source with close ties to the event shut down that explanation, telling People on Thursday:
“There were no consent forms.”
A TMZ insider doubled down on this, claiming there were no documents to fill out to get in. This was a birthday party with close friends only. Some of the most rich, famous, and influential people in the world, sure — but still friends. The party wasn’t even being filmed for The Kardashians! So no, they weren’t worried about legal documentation.
That said, guests were asked to store their phones away before arriving, says the source, just so nothing unwanted made it onto social media (though that clearly backfired anyway…). So it’s possible Harry and Meghan could have assumed they wouldn’t be plastered all over the ‘gram. However, there was a designated event photographer capturing all the moments, and they clearly knew it. Meghan in particular was happy to pose for photos. The insider argued the Confessions of a Female Founder podcast host even approved photos taken of her!
It wasn’t until the next day, per these sources, that the Duke and Duchess grew concerned about the optics of the pics. That’s apparently when they asked Kim and Kris to remove the photos. Based on these accounts, it sounds like Kris is right to be annoyed she’s been asked to participate in some kind of coverup!
Perhaps Harry and Meghan should’ve thought of all that before showing up to a party with some of the most famous — and most photographed — people in the world, huh? At this point, it might’ve been easier if Kris had required them to sign consent forms!
