Elizabeth Hurley‘s son has THOUGHTS when it comes to his mom’s surprise relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus!

As you know, Elizabeth and Billy Ray completely shocked the world when they announced they were dating — but they seem so happy together! In fact, her son Damian seems to be on board with this pairing BECAUSE his mom is so happy. Aww!

In an Instagram Stories post on Friday, the model explained how he wanted to clear the air on his opinions:

“I’ve been in the public eye since the day I was born and rarely comment on anything written about me or my family, but the recent stories are so startlingly untrue that I want to offer a little clarity. For the record: I adore [Billy Ray] and think he’s one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met.”

So adorable!

Damian wasn’t done gushing about the Achy Breaky Heart singer, though. He continued:

“I love seeing my mom so happy. Billy’s kids are also adorable and everyone gets along beautifully; any claims to the contrary are yawn inducing and tediously untrue. I have a very modern family- from my cherished father Arun, to my wonderful step siblings … and I feel blessed every day to be surrounded by so much love and support.”

Wrapping up, the 23-year-old had one message for naysayers and gossipers:

“I’m grateful for the truth we live, despite the stories others try to write for us.”
