Seth Rogen can’t believe Catherine O’Hara is gone.
Hours after the news that the 71-year-old actress died on Friday following “a brief illness,” he took to Instagram to mourn. Perezcious readers know that the pair starred on The Studio.
Filming for season two of the show reportedly began last week, but Catherine couldn’t come in for her few scenes due to “personal matters.” A source for The Sun said that no one knew “ she was dealing with any health or major issues,” so her death came “as a total shock to everyone on the show.”

Even Seth is somewhat at a loss for words over the tragedy. Alongside a picture of him and Catherine, he wrote in the caption:
“Really don’t know what to say… I told O’Hara when I first met her I thought she was the funniest person I’d ever had the pleasure of watching on screen. Home Alone was the movie that made me want to make movies. Getting to work with her was a true honour. She was hysterical, kind, intuitive, generous… she made me want to make our show good enough to be worthy of her presence in it. This is just devastating. We’re all lucky we got to live in a world with her in it.”
We truly were. See the tribute (below):
