New video circulating online has cast a devastating shadow over the search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show anchor Savannah Guthrie, who vanished from her Arizona home over the weekend. And what investigators are now confronting is deeply unsettling.

Footage shared by NewsNation senior correspondent Brian Entin on Tuesday shows what appears to be dark blood splattered across the brown tile outside Nancy’s front door. The marks form a trail that leads away from the entrance, a visual that is impossible to shake once you see it.

Then, in a separate video, Entin pointed out something that has been echoed in other previous reports: Nancy’s Ring camera is missing entirely from its usual spot, a detail that only adds to the sense that something went terribly wrong.

Nancy was reported missing on Sunday, and since then, details emerging from law enforcement have grown increasingly grim. Authorities confirmed blood was also found inside the home, though it has not been clarified whose blood was discovered. Still, it’s all pushing this case far beyond a simple missing persons report. Police now believe Nancy was taken from her home outside Tucson against her will, possibly in the middle of the night.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has been blunt about the seriousness of the situation, noting that Nancy suffers from health issues and would not have been physically capable of going far on her own. That assessment is echoed by the fact that homicide detectives are now involved, a chilling indicator of how dire investigators believe this may be.

There are also reports of an alleged ransom note sent to TMZ demanding millions in Bitcoin, which has been turned over to authorities. Whether that proves credible or not, it underscores the chaos and uncertainty surrounding this case.
